Put your training and experience to use with ITEC’s RPL services and earn a nationally recognised qualification with aUEE32211 – Certificate III in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration via our RTO partners.
Certificate III in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration signifies the competence and practical experience of an individual in the air-conditioning and refrigeration field. This certification caters to the demands of technicians engaged in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems. Depending on the specific regulations in each state or territory, additional criteria may be necessary to obtain this qualification.
To qualify for this certificate, you must provide evidence demonstrating that your skills and knowledge align with the courser’s learning outcomes. This evidence can take various forms. Demonstrating your current proficiency at a comparable level can be done through a CV (your student support representative can assist with this), an employment letter, or an employment contract.
Additionally, documents from prior work or educational experiences, such as references from licensed tradespeople you’ve collaborated with, apprenticeship records, academic transcripts, or assessments from relevant past qualifications, all contribute to the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process. You can also submit proof of overseas qualifications or visual evidence of your work, especially for practical roles.

This qualification covers competencies to select components, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain refrigeration systems and equipment that apply to food storage and preservation, and air conditioning and air distribution equipment in buildings and premises. It includes regulatory requirements for purchasing and handling refrigerants.
Competency development activities in this qualification are subject to regulations directly related to licencing. A relevant contract of training through an apprenticeship or relevant employment may be required to enable the application of the required knowledge and skills to on the job work activities and environments.
The achievement of the qualification meets the training components for the full national Refrigerant Handling Licence which is required to work on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment that carries the risk of a fluorocarbon refrigerant being emitted while decanting the refrigerant or manufacturing, installing, commissioning, servicing, maintaining or decommissioning refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
Additional and/or other conditions may apply in some jurisdictions subject to regulations related to refrigeration/air conditioning work. Practice in the workplace and during training is also subject to work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations.
The achievement of this qualification with the core restricted electrical units meet the electrical regulatory requirements for related restricted electrical work in most state/territories. This is required to work on electrical installations which are designed to operate at voltages greater than 50 volt (V) alternating current (a.c.) or 120 V direct current (d.c.).
We have up-to-date schedules, and contact information, & let you book appointments online.
Speak to ITEC Australia about your goals, and allow us to guide you towards the qualification that will help you reach them.
Your dedicated consultant will guide you through the process of putting together a portfolio of evidence. This can contain overseas qualifications, transcripts, certificates, photos and videos, samples or work examples, letters of reference, your current resume, etc.
Once one of our partner registered training organisations (RTOs) has assessed your portfolio, the assessor assigned to your case may be in touch if any additional evidence is required. If you have any weak areas, the RTO may assign a trainer to upskill you at no cost to you.
ITEC Australia is partnered with Registered Training Organisations whose qualifications are nationally recognised in Australia, and are the same as the qualification you would receive from full time study. Qualifications can also be useful for licensing or immigration purposes.
