The Queensland Building and Construction Commission is the regulating body for the licensing of building contractors in Queensland. Glaziers require a builders licence with the indicated licence class of Glass, Glazing and Aluminum to perform work exceeding $3000.
Requirements
In order to qualify for a QBC builders licence or trade contractor licence for glaziers, applicants must have successfully completed one of the following:
- Certificate III in Glass and Glazing MSF30413
- An apprenticeship in glass and glazing
- or an equivalent of the above.
Alternatively, the applicant may furnish a certificate of recognition as a qualified glazier, or a certificate of attainment for the required competencies in the licence class.
How to Apply
In order to apply for the glazing licence, submit the following documents to your nearest QBCC office:
- Trade Contractors Licence Application Form
- Supporting Documents
- proof of identity
- technical qualifications
- financial information
- certificate of completion of the approved managerial course
