This qualification is tailored to meet the demands of allied health professionals, involving tasks such as providing support to healthcare practitioners, ensuring the quality of care, and collaborating with patients. Depending on the jurisdiction, additional requirements may be necessary to obtain this certificate, as licensing criteria may differ.

Evidence of learning

To qualify for this certificate, you must provide evidence demonstrating that your skills and knowledge align with the courser’s learning outcomes. This evidence can take various forms. Demonstrating your current proficiency at a comparable level can be done through a CV (your student support representative can assist with this), an employment letter, or an employment contract.

Additionally, documents from prior work or educational experiences, such as references from licensed tradespeople you’ve collaborated with, apprenticeship records, academic transcripts, or assessments from relevant past qualifications, all contribute to the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process. You can also submit proof of overseas qualifications or visual evidence of your work, especially for practical roles.

Qualification Description

This qualification reflects the role of workers participating in the design, implementation and evaluation of leisure, health activities and programs for clients in one or more sector areas. Workers may be in residential facilities and/or in community agencies and day centres, completing specialised tasks and functions in relation to leisure and health. While workers are responsible for their own outputs, work is carried out under direct or indirect supervision within defined organisation guidelines.

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Total number of units = 17

10 core units
7 elective units, consisting of:

up to 3 units from the electives listed below, any endorsed Training Package or accredited course – these units must be relevant to the work outcome
