Building Licence Tasmania

In order to operate as a building practitioner in Tasmania, you must be registered by the Department of Justice.

Requirements

Tasmania offers building practitioners the opportunity to register in any of the three classes, each requiring different qualifications:
Open – Advanced diploma or degree in Building and Construction Low Rise – Certificate IV in Building and Construction (CPC40110) High Rise – Diploma in Building and Construction (CPC50210)

How to Apply

Include the following supporting documents when you apply for a builder’s license in Tasmania:

  • Completed Building Practitioner Application (available from website of Department of Justice, Tasmania)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Copies of existing qualifications
  • Statement of Experience
  • 2 Detailed references
  • Proof of Insurance
  • Registration Fee
